I'd suggest Vietnam and America, edited by Gettleman, Franklin,
Young and Franklin.

It's a series of documents, papers and articles. It has been
edited to reflect an anti-war view, but the documents themselves
are very credible.

Dear Sir or Madam!
I´m a German student and I have to prepare a lecture about USAs
foreign policy. Could you tell me some titles of books about the
Vietnam War, that are credible and really want to tell the truth?
Thank you!
Florian

Everyone's confused about when it began. Depends on which country
you're talking about. Heck, it was a civil war before foreign
intervention, if I recall, so I'd suggest looking at dates in the
late 1940s.

war...after reaserching the war i am confused about when it began.

I would suggest two books. Both are by rifleman serving in the
Central Highlands in 1969. Both are serving in a mission, "Wayne
Grey" along the Cambodian border. The mission to stop the NVA
from cutting South Vietnam in half, or something like that. The
first is a book by Jack Leninger, "Time Heals NO Wounds" the
second is a book by me, "Light Ruck". Neither of these books will
solve the many riddles of the Vietnam War, but each will give you
a better idea of what it was like for the men out in the jungles.
